Ingredients:
* 2-3 quarts fresh roses or rose petals.
* Water
* A fireplace brick
* Heat safe stainless steal
* Ice cubes or crushes ice
Time taken to prepare: about 40 minutes.
Method:
1. First of all place a firebrick, in the centre of a large pot with the help of an inverted lid. On the top of the brick place the bowl. Now in the pot put the roses. Put in so much that they reach the top of the brick. Then fill in water to cover the roses. The water should be poured in such that it reaches the brick.
2. Now, place the lid upside down on the pot. Then lit the stove and bring the water to the rolling boil. As soon as the water starts boiling, shake three or four ice cubes onto the top of the lid.
3. Finally, as the water steam gets higher and it pushes the top of the cold lid, then at every 20 minutes lift the lid and take out about two tablespoons of rosewater from it. But you may stop it as soon as it starts to smell strongly of roses.
But still if you wish to buy the rose water from the market, then you must be careful regarding some of the very important points. You must insist on providing only the 100% pure rose water. It is most distilled water of roses. It smells heavenly and tastes delicious.
It is available in food or health stores, herb stores also keep it. Besides, you can also find it in delicious places like delicatessens, as it is also used in flavoring pastires, puddings and cakes.
